Are Your Marble or Stone Floor Tiles Dirty or Stains?

Do they Need Cleaning?

Many marble or stone floor tiles need professional cleaning occasionally. This is due to the fine pores in the surface of the stone which require cleaning with stronger cleaners and specialty scrubbing machines.

3 Types of Cleaning Methods

As there is such a large variety of stone materials in the market place and as each stone surface may present a unique cleaning problem, we require a large number of products to solve these cleaning issues.

When cleaning tile floors there are 3 main methods that we can use to achieve the best result possible. These are chemical, abrasion, and heat. These 3 cleaning processes are often used in conjunction to produce a better result.

Chemical Cleaning

Chemical Cleaning is used to clean stone tiles to remove many different types of materials, Strong cleaning detergents are used to dissolve heave oils and grease build up in tiles and grout. Acids can also be used on some acid resistant stones to remove calcium based materials from the surface. These are the 2 main types of chemical cleaners but there are many more depending on the stains and material we are working on.

Abrasion Based Cleaning

This is often used in conduction with chemical cleaning to remove surface and underground dirt and stains. There are different degrees of abrasive cleaning from simple scrubbing and using actual abrasive which grind the surface of the stone.

Heat Based Cleaning

This is used mainly to remove heavy grease and oil buildup. This is often used in conduction with chemical cleaning to remove older type stains. Often used for car parks and other outdoor areas.
